Winter 2024

Malden Youth Soccer is offering an 7-week winter soccer program on Sunday mornings between January 7 and February 18 for players between Age 4 and Grade 6.

This program is focused on skill development for players and for coaches.  Experienced professional coaches will design practice plans, demonstrate effective drills, and guide Malden Soccer’s volunteer coaches in running their practices.  Each session will include skill development, and a fun game.

FAQ's

What do I need to have?
Players must have:

  • Shin guards

  • Dry indoor athletic shoes (sneakers are fine)

  • An appropriate ball is recommended, but not required.  See above for details.  Coaches will have some extra balls at the gym, but not enough for everyone.

Who can register?  Do I need experience?
This program is open to anybody who fits the age group.  Newbies are welcome!  Players may be separated into different groups based on skill, and the groups will focus on skills that best suit that group... especially in the older age groups.

Will there be games?
Each session will contain skill development components, and will conclude with scrimmage games within the group.

What happens if we get snowed out?

The city uses the school during snow emergencies, so sometimes they will cancel our access.  If they do this, we will need to cancel soccer on that day.  It is possible we will extend the session to makeup for the lost day, but this cannot be guaranteed.  Refunds will not be possible if this happens due to the time and expense for processing them.  We are all volunteers.  We appreciate your understanding.
